Different types of polyurethane foams
Polyurethane foams are available in different types.
Polyurethane foams (PU) are high-quality flexible foams that can be widely used. Whether it is polyether foam, polyester foam or our environmentally friendly ECOfoams, these materials offer unparalleled performance. With a specific gravity of 16-70 kg/m³ and adaptable properties such as anti-static, fire retardant and sealing properties, polyurethane foams are suitable for a wide range of applications in industries such as furniture manufacturing, packaging, sound insulation and more.
Polyurethane foams are available in different types.
Ecofoam is an environmentally friendly variant of polyether foam, developed with sustainability and renewable raw materials in mind. These foams combine excellent performance with a lower environmental footprint, making them ideal for packaging, construction and engineering applications. By using recycled and natural materials, Ecofoam not only offers high-quality functionality, but also contributes to a circular economy. In addition, our polyether foams can be easily customized with different densities and hardnesses to meet specific requirements.
Sponges are made from polyurethane foams, both polyether and polyester foam. By adding special ingredients to the formula and our special vacuum foaming process, we can produce all kinds of sponge foams. These can vary in color, density, cell size and other designs. Many of our sponges contain bio-based ingredients and are produced from our ecofoams. The circular application is also important for UXEM and its customers, which is why the return of foam parts is also possible.
Polyester foams are characterized by their high density and high tear strength, making them suitable for demanding technical applications. They provide excellent thermal and acoustic insulation, which is why they are often used in sound-absorbing panels, technical installations, the automotive industry and even in the aviation industry. The chemical resistance and durability of polyester foams make them a reliable choice for applications where longevity and consistency are required. Many of our technical shock-absorbing foams (memory foams) are also based on polyester foam. Applications include rehabilitation, but also technical fall and cushioning applications.

Polyurethane foams are used in a wide range of industries due to their unique properties. Below is an overview of some popular applications.
In the furniture industry, polyether foams are often used as cushion filling, mattresses and upholstery. Thanks to their resilience and comfort, they provide long-lasting support and a luxurious appearance.
Polyester foams are ideal for sound insulation and acoustic improvement applications. They are used in studios, theaters and technical installations to minimize echoes and reverberation.
Our ECOfoams and other PU foams are widely used in packaging materials to protect products against shock and damage during transport. The adjustable density and shape provide optimal protection for vulnerable products.
Polyurethane foams offer numerous advantages that make them suitable for various applications. The flexibility en versatility These foams ensure that they are widely applicable, from comfort products such as mattresses and pillows to technical applications such as sound insulation and packaging materials.
Additionally, the foams can be customized with specific properties, such as fire retardancy, antistatic properties of sealing properties, making them seamlessly suited to the requirements of different industries. Our environmentally friendly ECOfoams also offer a sustainable solution through the use of natural and recycled raw materials, thus contributing to a lower environmental impact.
Polyurethane foams combine lightweight properties with excellent strength, making transportation and installation easy, while delivering reliable performance in demanding applications.
